A year after Rusty McArthur (above) took over the farm from Grandpa Milt McArthur, one of his Belgian foals has been named the 2011 Ontario Bred & Sired Filly Foal Champion. The foal, named Maple Lane Misty, accumulated the most points over ten judging events held across the province this past summer. Rusty’s now entered her in the Canadian Championship, and while he’s received a few offers to buy the foal, he figures he will hold on to her and try to win the yearling competition next year. Milt won that competition nine years ago.
