“Backyard Beauty” was the 2014 theme for our second annual event to recognize gardens worthy of note and commendation in our community.

Thanks to the 12 participants who were willing to expose the beauty of their gardening endeavours and to our assessors’ critical eyes.

The assessors were Wendy Harry and Ruth Laden from the Angus Horticultural Society, and Katie Dawson of Cut and Dried Flower Farm.

All of the participants are worthy of our admiration. Nonetheless, as advertised, we must acknowledge the five gardens judged to best meet Creemore Blooms’ criteria.

This year, a “scoring tie” means that the top five are really six. Congratulations to the following gardens (in alphabetical order): 3 Elizabeth Street West; 17 Elizabeth Street West; 24 Elizabeth Street East; 22 Francis Street East; 56 George Street; and 7 Purple Hills Lane.

Thank you for the beauty you are collectively bringing to our community! We look forward to your participation in the Creemore Horticultural Society and in future Creemore Blooms contests.
