Students are taking a break from classes March 16-20.

For those looking for something to do, here’s what’s happening in Clearview Township during March Break.

Mad Maple Country Inn is offering a workshop for culinary types.

On Tuesday, March 17 everyone eight and older is invited to join Mad Maple owner Miriam Streiman and chef Dennis Chow to learn how to make vegetarian dumplings and sauces from scratch inspired by local and wild ingredients from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A cost of $40 includes lunch. Clearview Township writer and teacher Carolyn J. Morris is bringing baby chicks to Curiosity House Books on Wednesday, March 18 for a hands-on story hour beginning at 11 a.m. Morris is the author of Mourning Dove, Barn Swallows, Pine Warbler and Chickadees and Christmas.

Free one-hour messy art sessions are being offered at Clearview Public Library branches on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Mach 18-20). Sessions begin in Creemore at 3 p.m., in New Lowell at 1 p.m. and in Stayner at 10:30 a.m. Themes include jigsaw puzzle art, sealscapes and mixed media drawing. No registration required.

The library presents The Incredible Adventures of Jugglerboy and his Quest for Laughs at the Stayner Community Centre on Tuesday, March 17 at 11 a.m. This comedy show features juggling superhero Craig Douglas and his collection of ping pong balls, flaming torches and an unicycle plus more. Admission is free but a limited number of tickets are available at all Clearview Public Library branches.

Highlands Nordic, near Duntroon, is offering a March Break Day Camp from March 16-20 with various outdoor activities including cross country skiing, snowshoeing, games, cook outs and making maple syrup.

The cost is $225 for the week or $45 per day for children ages 4-8 and includes a hot lunch, two snacks and rentals. Drop-off from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Pick-up from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 705-444-5017 or e-mail skiinfo@highlandsnordic.ca.
