It turned out to be a hat trick of a month for the Atom B Clearview IceCats.

The girls’ ice hockey team spent the weekend of Oct. 17 outside Zehrs in Alliston raising funds for their Pink the Rink initiative for breast cancer research.

With October being breast cancer awareness month, the girls were motivated to raise funds, half of which went to breast cancer research and the other half toward their entry into the third annual Pink in the Valley tournament in Clearview from Oct. 23- 25.

The tournament itself donates proceeds from team entries to breast cancer research.

The team donated $1,663.02 in total.

The girls learned a valuable lesson about giving back to their community.

They went on to win at the tournament the “Get your Pink On” best dressed contest and to top it all off won first place at the tournament! Officials thank Zehrs Alliston and the community of Clearview for its support and encouragement for the girls to play a game they love.
