After we posted a story online about a change to the Santa Claus Parade route, having it end at the Creemore Log Cabin instead of proceeding to Creedan Valley nursing home, some people commented that it wasn’t fair to the residents.
To be fair to the parade organizers, who are all volunteers, this may be a good solution to the ongoing challenge of keeping everyone happy.
In years past, with the parade being so long, some floats have cut out, so the residents, who are watching from the window, have missed them entirely. So this year, the residents will watch a live feed of the parade on a big-screen TV.
Creedan Valley director of programs Mary Jane Watson said they are open to trying this method. She said if all goes well, the residents will get a better view of the parade and they will still have a visit from Santa.
This may be a great solution for everyone, we will wait to hear the reviews from the residents.
