Members of the Avening Women’s Institute visited Fire Station 4 in Creemore Feb. 19 to deliver teddy bears and handmade blankets, which firefighters hand out to children they encounter when out on calls. The blankets were made by Marg Palujanskas, Muriel Day, Marilyn Steed, Marion McArthur, Joan Morby, Gwen Taylor, Marjorie Rolfe, Billie Power, Marg Prescott and Dorothy Shropshire, in celebration of the 119th anniversary of Women’s Institute.
