County Road 9 has re-opened after an early morning fire.
Clearview firefighters were called to the scene at 4:30 a.m.
Deputy Fire Chief Roree Payment said he arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor of the home.
Fire Chief Colin Shewell said the owner reported no one was home at the time of the blaze but crews hadn’t been able to get inside the house to make sure.
Because the total damage is estimated at about $500,000, between the structure and contents, the fire marshal’s office has been called to investigate. The cause of the fire is unknown but it is not considered suspicious.
