Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Creemore with some authentic East Coast music.
Husband-and-wife duo Matt MacIsaac and Kate Quinn, who live in Stayner, are teaming up with fellow musicians for a St. Patrick’s Day Ceilidh.
“It’s traditional music. There will be some Irish and Celtic, we have a whole bunch of different styles to play around with. That’s why we are saying forget the green beer, this is not the North American version of a St. Patrick’s Day party,” said MacIsaac.
He and Quinn will be joined by Andrea Beaton and Mac Morin, all of them originally from Cape Breton, and also Angus Leahy, the youngest member of the Leahy family folk music group based in Lakefield, Ont.
Both MacIsaac, who plays the bagpipes, whistles and guitar, and pianist Morin, play with Natalie MacMaster. Beaton and Leahy are fiddlers and Quinn will be the lead vocalist.
MacIsaac, Quinn and Beaton performed a Cape Breton Christmas show in Dunedin and tickets sold out in one week.
The Creemore show is at the Legion on Thursday, March 17. Tickets cost $25 and are available online and at The Creemore Echo, located at 3 Caroline St. W., in Creemore.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. The bar will be open.
