Friends and family are paying tribute to a New Lowell teenager who was killed Thursday when a pick-up truck collided with a bus on Mountain Road.

A funeral for Troy Scott is at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15 at the Stayner Community Center Hall, located at 277 Regina St., Stayner. Visitation is Monday, March 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home in Stayner.

The collision happened shortly after 6:30 p.m., just west of the Tenth Line. Mountain Road was closed for investigation for several hours.

Police say a westbound Dodge Dakota pickup truck crossed the center line, into the eastbound lane and collided with a full size Prevost bus.

Scott, the driver of the truck, died at the scene.

A passenger was extricated by the Collingwood Fire Department and transported to hospital and then transferred to a Toronto hospital with life threatening injuries.

The majority of the passengers of the bus were treated at scene and two were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

OPP Traffic Collision investigators were on scene until about 6 a.m. as a result of the investigation into the crash.

Scott is the son of Steve and Julie Scott, brother of Kristen Scott and grandson of Vern and Heather Prosser, Dave Scott and Ruth Corriveau.

Donations in Troy Scott’s memory may be made to New Lowell Parks and Recreation through the Township of Clearview.
