The New Farm has announced Sloan will perform in the barn at this year’s benefit concert on June 11.
In its seventh year, the event celebrates not only Canadian Music but also food and farming. This year’s event will feature chefs from 15 of southern Ontario’s best restaurants.
Formerly known as Grow for The Stop, this year’s event will be part of Farms for Change, a new partnership with Community Food Centres Canada. The New Farm is owned by Gillian Flies and Brent Preston. Organizers say, as the event has grown, more and more good food organizations have benefited. All proceeds will still be used to buy fresh organic food direct from local farmers for The Stop and Regent Park Community Food Centres, and for food banks in south Georgian Bay.
As part of the fundraising effort, there will be a live auction in the barn before Sloan takes the stage.
Ticket information has not yet been released.
