Clearview Public Library

Chicken is on the menu during March Break at Clearview Public Library

There’s much to consider when deciding whether to have backyard chickens.

Creemore Branch CEO Laura LaChapelle will be talking about chickens as Pets on March 11 and Betsy Wright will be talking about chickens as Layers on March 18, both at 11 a.m.

Wright has about 60 free-range hens, which she breeds and sells.

She said the idea of the free seminars is to provide people with information and resources. She said there is a lot to know about predators and diet. People should also consider how many eggs they want and what breeds are best.

On Wednesday, March 15, Elaine Hamerton will be featuring fun with rubber chickens and plastic eggs at 1 p.m. in our Family Minute to Win It Game.

On Thursday, March 16 at 11 am, create a number of chicken crafts at an interactive arts party with Elephant Thoughts and Curiosity House Books.
