Editor:
I do not understand the change of mind from our council with respect to the TD Bank.
The Small Consultant Group ran three meetings. Everyone was invited. Everyone had a chance to give their opinion, whether by voicing their concerns out loud, by leaving a note, or by sending an email.
I attended all three meetings and I am happy with the final decision. A green space for the community where friends and families can gather and socialize is priceless in my opinion. No question that generating tax revenue is important, however, a well designed green space has greater potential for hidden revenues down the road, social and economic.
Will any decision be supported by 100 per cent of the population? No. However, we cannot afford to miss this opportunity.
I was disappointed to hear that, on May 13, Deputy Mayor Barry Burton presented a motion to reconsider the decision that was made on April 29. I feel this delay is a waste of time, money and resources.
