The Township of Mulmur is rehabilitating Bridges 7 and 9, which are both located on River Road in the Hamlet of Kilgorie.
This project is proceeding under the province’s current ‘essential services’ work and the Construction Site best practices specific to COVID-19 health and safety procedures will be followed on site at all times for the duration for this project.
Bridge 7 is located approximately 0.6 km south of 15th Sideroad and Bridge 9 is located approximately 0.95 km north of 15th Sideroad. The signed detour route will utilize Prince of Wales Road, 10th Sideroad, 2nd Line East.
The construction project is the rehabilitation of the existing concrete structures, including concrete patch repairs, waterproofing, roadside protection upgrades and associated road reconstruction work.
The Contract has been awarded to Esposito Bros. Construction Ltd.
The road closure was set to start on April 22. It is anticipated that the project will be complete, and the road will be reopened by September. Bridge 7 will be closed first from April to June and Bridge 9 will subsequently be closed, tentatively from July to September. Only one bridge will be closed at any given time. Local access will be maintained at all times for residents from either the North or the South; however, through access will not be permitted while the road is closed.
Emergency Services, Student Transportation Services, Waste Collection and Postal Service will all be notified of the road closure. Road closure notification and project information signs will be installed and maintained throughout the road closure.
