Developers of an approved condominium complex in Creemore are asking council to approve a change to the plan.
MDM Developments has taken over the project developed by Creemore resident Doug MacIntosh at the corner of Mary Street and Edward Street East.
The new developer is asking for approval to build the 72 condo units in two three-storey buildings instead of three.
The development, formerly known as the Meadows of Creemore, is now being marketed as The Brix, modern terrace suites starting from the $500s coming spring 2021.
MDM Developments describes it as modern spacious maintenance-free suites that pair perfectly with four-season adventure and picturesque charm, in historic downtown Creemore.
Meadows of Creemore has been on the books since 2004 and was the subject of several OMB appeals. The project finally received approval in 2017.
Cameron Sellers, with Innovative Planning Solutions on behalf of MDM Developments, said the smaller of the three buildings (with 18 units) was the subject of much opposition. He said the developer has consulted with township staff, Creemore and Area Residents Association and neighbours in the vicinity.
“We have received overwhelming feedback that the elimination of the third building is in the best interest of everyone,” said Sellers.
The plan does allow for underground parking.
Design details are still being worked out.
