Clearview Township has announced the hiring of its new director of legislative services and municipal clerk, Sasha Helmkay.
Helmkay comes via Springwater Township, where she is serving as deputy clerk.
The new job starts on May 31.
Helmkay brings with her 13 years of municipal experience, starting out in Clearview Township and growing within the clerk’s department to gain experience with legislation compliance, elections, council and committee secretariat functions, management and staff supervision. Along with her exceptional reputation for hard work, professionalism and dedication, Helmkay brings her educational background which includes a double major Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and Canadian studies as well as a diploma in municipal administration with honours and academic excellence award.
Helmkay said she looks forward to working with Clearview Township once again,
“I’m very excited for this opportunity to work with council and staff and can’t wait to return to Clearview,” she said.
“Sasha has strong academic credentials and a healthy knowledge of our community that will position her to serve our municipality with confidence. She will be the third clerk in the history of Clearview Township, I look forward to welcoming her back to our council meetings,” said Mayor Doug Measures.
