Huronia West OPP located and arrested a driver for impaired operation as a result of a 9-1-1 call reporting an unsafe driver.
At about 7 p.m. on June 21, police responded to a report of an erratic driver travelling westbound on Horseshoe Valley Road. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Highway 26. During the investigation, signs of impairment were detected and the driver was transported back to the Huronia West Detachment for further tests.
As a result, 40-year-old Amie McMahon, of Bracebridge, has been charged with operation of a vehicle while impaired and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration of 80-plus.
The driver was given a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
The OPP is committed to public safety and encourages anyone who suspects an impaired driver to call 9-1-1 immediately.
