Clearview Township has implemented proof of vaccination policies at some of its facilities.
Following direction from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and all levels of government to ensure the safety and well-being of the community, those attending certain township facilities will be required to show digital or printed proof of full vaccination at least 14 days prior, along with an identifying document showing name and date of birth or providing confirmation of a medical exemption before entering facilities including arenas, community halls and the youth centre.
“Your kindness and patience are appreciated as we work together through this latest change in pandemic protocols. Clearview’s goal is to abide by the provincial regulations and keep everyone as safe as possible,” said township staff.
The Stayner Arena opened on Sept. 22, and the Creemore Arena will re-open on Oct. 12.
Township staff have said youth between the ages of 12 and 18 will be exempt from the vaccination requirement actively participating in an organized sport at the arenas, but will be required to show proof of vaccination while at the facility as a spectator. Otherwise, all arena patrons, players, spectators, and volunteers must be fully vaccinated.
All youth 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to visit the Clearview Youth Centre. Unvaccinated youth will be able to enter the front area of the Clearview Youth Centre short-term (up to 15 minutes) to request services or support from Clearview Township staff. The Youth Centre will continue to offer free at-home activity kits for those youth who can not attend the facility.
Clearview’s community halls are set to begin re-opening in October and will have similar restrictions in place.
Those who may not have access to a computer, printer, or internet can print their vaccine receipt at any branch of the Clearview Public Library. Proof of vaccination is not required to access the library. Visit www.clearview.library.on.ca for hours of operation.
