“To me, the Purple Tent is about individuals coming to heal, for those who need to do it individually, and also collective healing in community,” said Hambleton, adding that can empower people to be more resilient to the outside stressors of the world.
With degrees in psychology, women’s studies and nutrition, Hambleton worked as a registered dietician for 10 years supporting organ transplant and diabetes patients in hospital. Following a move north from Toronto and time spent raising her children, Hambleton is launching a new venture to bring many holistic modalities and practitioners together. Hambleton follows the Peruvian medicine wheel of healing and is trained in energy medicine. She is a certified Roots of Empathy instructor and JourneyDance facilitator. She is also trained in mindfulness, shamanism and meditation.
In terms of nutrition, she currently specializes in plant-based eating and the energetics of food and healthy living.
Hambleton takes a non-diet approach to nutritional wellness helping people get to the root of eating patterns and co-create a path to self-compassion and heart felt nourishment.
“I like to think of it as nourishment medicine, getting to the why’s of what we eat,” she said.
Entering her crone years, Hambleton is embracing her role as the wise older women, a healer.
She is hosting “pause parties” for women anywhere on the menopause spectrum. Through creativity, dance, and connecting with nature, the goal is to share wisdom and ease the journey through to menopause.
In a pause party, women are invited to share their wisdom about the changes they are experiencing as a result of hormone changes, in order to accept and understand, and make others feel more supported.
The next pause party is on Jan. 20. Find more information about all of the services offered through Purple Tent Wellness, including Energy Medicine and one-on-one wellness coaching sessions at purpletentwellness.com.
