Support minor hockey while having a good laugh with a night of comedy hosted by the Clearview Canucks.
The second annual Yuk Yuks with Canucks event will be held at the Stayner Community Centre on Friday, Feb. 9, with headliner Mike Wilmot, featuring Nick Beaton, and emceed by Dom Paré.
Wilmot won two Canadian Comedy Awards in 2015 for best male stand-up and best actor for his work in It’s All Gone Pete Tong. He has also appeared on Corner Gas, The Jon Dore Television Show, The Foundation, British TV shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and alongside American comedian Rich Hall in the BBC television series Rich Hall’s Fishing Show and Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Clearview Minor Hockey, said fundraising director Jennifer Miller. Proceeds help keep costs low for players and go towards player development, including goalie clinics and skating techniques.
Tickets cost $50 and are available at www. eventbrite.com, search 2nd Annual Yuk Yuks with Canucks. This is a 19+ event. Doors open at 7 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. with a dance to follow.
