Creemore Coyotes had a rough start to the playoff series. The team was badly outplayed the whole game (bus legs maybe) in Port Elgin on Feb. 9, losing 6-1 with Collingwood’s Nick Sammons scoring Creemore’s lone goal.

Feb. 10 saw a much better effort with a record crowd of 328 in attendance in Creemore, but in the end Saugeen came away with a 2-1 overtime victory.

“We have had our fair share of OT wins in the past, said GM Tom Macham, “but this one didn’t go our way. It was heartbreaking.”

It was a highly entertaining game with back and forth action with Creemore’s tender Mason Kameka putting on a clinic.

“My shot counter wasn’t able to make the game but I am sure Mason had over 60 shots counting the OT frame,” said Macham.

Scoring Creemore’s lone goal was Anthony Novielli (aka Novi).

Game 3 in Port Elgin is on Feb. 16 and then back to Creemore for Game 4 on Feb. 17. See you at the rink.

Game 5, if necessary, will be in Shelburne at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.
