Community members gathered along Temperance Creek earlier this month to plant 400 trees at an event organized by Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and Friends of the Mad River. There will be a benefit concert for the Friends of the Mad River at St. John’s United Church in Creemore on Sunday, May 26, at 3 p.m. Creemore’s one and only Brodie de Ruiter will be our emcee for a fun filled afternoon featuring special musical performances by Jess Bowman, Sherri Jackson, Patrick Keating, Andrew Lodge, Clive Vanderburgh, Fran Webster, Bay Winds Flute Ensemble, Creemore Community Children’s Choir and Creemore Drumming Collective with Emily Vaughan and Sonja Ferris. Free registration encouraged on Eventbrite. This is a “Pay What You Can” event, cash only at the door. New Friends of the Mad River T-shirts will be for sale at the event.
