Forty people came out to plant trees along the Ganaraska Trail in Creemore during TD Tree Days, a TD Friends of the Environment’s flagship urban volunteer and greening program which aims to provide the public, community members, TD colleagues, their friends and family the opportunity to volunteer to help build healthier communities by planting trees and shrubs in urban and rural green spaces. They partnered with NVCA this fall to plant 275 native trees and shrubs along the trail. Along with Tamarack, Birch and Maple trees, native berry bushes were planted. In a few years, the Serviceberry and Elderberry should be flowering and producing fruit for birds and wildlife.
