Clearview Township’s Official Plan has received a PlanON Vision Award of Merit, with director of planning and building Amy Cann and planner Patrick Casey with GSP Group accepting the award at the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) Conference in September.

“Clearview Township council is grateful to the OPPI for recognizing our new Official Plan with the PlanON Vision Award,” said Mayor Doug Measures. “The significant effort that was made by our staff professional planners and contract planners to engage the public and find best practices is commendable.”

The award “celebrates Registered Professional Planners and their teams who have demonstrated excellence in advancing the public interest by addressing key challenges facing the planning profession in Ontario, such as climate change, innovations in planning, affordable housing, transit, technology, and/or inclusivity.”

“The Clearview planning team and the planners at GSP Group put incredible care and thought into crafting the new Official Plan policies and engaging with the public and our commenting partners,” said Cann. “We are very proud of the final product and wish to extend our thanks to those who participated in this important process.”

The Official Plan is currently being reviewed by the County of Simcoe and is expected to go to county council for approval in early November.
