BIRD, Gwendolyn (nee Bedgood) – passed peacefully in the late afternoon of November 14, 2024 with her family by her side. Born December 27, 1934, Gwen is survived by her husband Gordon, her high school sweetheart and partner in life for almost 70 years. Together they raised three children, Michael (Sandy); Christine (Jamie Grant); and Carolyn (Dan Collett); and are the proud grandparents of Jordan Black (Ashley); Kate Black (Jordan Hyde); Kevin Bird (Kaila); Megan Bird; Nicholas Collett and Sam Collett. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren. Gwen was predeceased by her parents Robert Bedgood, Edith Bedgood (Dunn) and younger brother Robert (Bob). Gwen and Gord raised their family in Toronto where she was active in Girl Guides, first as a passionate leader in the community and later as a volunteer at the provincial level. As empty nesters they moved to Creemore where they owned acreage and Gord was able to become the hobby farmer he had always wanted to be. Then as retirees they enjoyed many years in Pineridge, Gravenhurst ON, playing bridge with friends and painting with other artistic women in the community. The family is celebrating Gwen’s life privately and there is no service planned at this time.
